Every year around the festive season, local attractions around Winchester offer some great Christmas themed events. So with Christmas fast approaching, we’ve made a list of all the festive fun you can get up to this December!

Winchester Christmas Market

Winchester Cathedral’s Christmas Market is recognised as one of the best in Europe thanks to the unique historic location and fantastic stalls. There are over 100 chalets, all selling seasonal treats, hot food and drink, delicious produce, and Christmas gifts. 

It’s the perfect place to get in the Christmas spirit in the heart of Winchester.

Christmas activies at The Brooks

We’ve got lots of festive fun here at The Brooks Shopping this December.

The Secret Stocking TrailWill you find all the stockings hidden around The Brooks and spell out the secret word? If you crack the code, you’ll earn a chocolatey treat and the chance to enter our competition to win a family day out to Paultons Park.

Festive Face Painting – On Saturdays in December we’re offering FREE face painting between 11am and 2pm by our Soft Play. We’re asking for donations for Naomi House & Jacksplace.

Festive ‘Elfie’ Competition – Find one of our festive selfie pods and snap your picture with the #TheBrooksElfie, for your chance to win a £50.00 voucher for a shop of your choice at The Brooks!

As well as some of Winchester’s biggest and best shops, you’ll find fantastic visitor attractions including the Tot City play centre and the brand new 878 AD Visitor attraction.

Glow Marwell at Marwell Zoo

Visitors will love this immersive light extravaganza that will see Marwell’s majestic grounds turned into a twinkling wonderland full of fairy lights, magic and delight.

Full of gently glowing displays and spots for reflection, our winter light trail event promises an uplifting evening of festive delights. You’ll be able to meet Santa, as well as enjoying some magical decorations and festive scenes around the park. Find out more here.

878 AD – New attraction in Winchester

In this new, immersive experience, witness the sights and sounds of Anglo-Saxon Winchester and discover the stories of the people who lived there, brought to life with spectacular graphics from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla® and Discovery Tour: Viking Age. You’ll find 878 AD at The Brooks, and it’s the perfect place to escape to warm up and explore the fascinating history of Winchester. You can pre-book tickets on their website here.

Steam Watercress Line

Steam Illuminations on the Watercress Line is an incredible light show on and in a steam train, consisting of thousands of LED lights and LED wristbands. This makes the train look magical both inside and out! Find out more here.
