Our independent stores here at The Brooks are getting involved with Independent Business Month, run by Winchester BID.
Independent Retailer Month is a global ‘Shop Local’ campaign that runs throughout the month of July to celebrate local, independent retailers in the communities they serve. To support this, Winchester Business Improvement District (BID) recognises the city’s unique selection of independent businesses by promoting #IndieWinch businesses across Winchester.
Below we’ve detailed the awesome independent stores you can visit below;
Marse The New Delicious – a new restaurant bringing ancient grains and amazing flavours to Winchester, using innovative as well as traditional food recipes from Nepal and around the globe. Find their new outlet on Upper Brook Street, where they will be serving up the freshest (and healthiest) takeaway food in Winchester.
99 Vintage – a buy/sell/trade clothing store who stock 80s, 90s and early 2000s products. They pride themselves on sustainability and promoting individuality. 99 Vintage predominantly sell unique one-off vintage clothing items that have been sourced specifically for the store, as well as this they also stock trainers, caps, bags and other accessories.
Ballet Pointe – offers a variety of dance clothing including leotards to suit a variety of ages and sizes. As well as traditional apparel, shoppers can also pick up quirky gifts in store, ideal for birthdays and the festive season. Ballet Pointe staff have a good relationship with major dance and performing arts schools, and are happy to give advice to those looking to get into dance as a career or hobby.
Independent Holiday Shop – The Independent Holiday Shop are a fully bonded independent travel agency, co-owned and managed by Hilary Honess and Sharron Brammall. Whether it’s a summer escape or some Winter sun, the knowledgeable team can help plan your next trip, all with expert knowledge and a friendly face.
Turkish Style Barbers – Turkish Style Barbers offers haircuts, beard shape up/trim, wet shave, face mask, face wax and much more. No appointment is needed, and you can always guarantee a great service. Find them on Middle Brook Street.
Tot City – Coming this summer is the exciting new role play experience for young children and toddlers. Let them play and learn in the exciting environment of Tot City. Keep your eyes on our website and social media for when they plan to open.
